Model Range CMG 05 - CMG 601

The CMG motor gear series is a pioneering concept for electric drive technology. An absolute innovation when it comes to compact drives for injection moulding machines, extruders and applications where enormous power density is required.

The CMG drive consists of a motor unit and a gear unit. The motor unit incorporates four 3-phase asynchronous motors whose driving pinions drive a central gear on the output shaft. The gear part is available as a 1-stage or 2-stage model, which has an effect on the output torque and the reduction ratio. A higher usage rate of the output drive gear is achieved due to the 4-fold engagement; there are no shearing forces on the output bearing and the small circumferential speeds result in low-noise operation.

The latest development of the CMG drives is based on a modular design of the motor unit with four water-cooled individual motors. This enables the simple exchange of an individual motor. Furthermore, emergency operation or operation with reduced power is possible while carrying out maintenance at an individual motor.
